Nut Butter + Jelly Smoothie

Aug 19, 2019
Nut Butter + Jelly Smoothie

This smoothie reminds me of one of my favorites from Juiceland, the Originator! It has a similar berry, nutty, pb&j flavor, I simply adjusted the ingredients to satisfy the “fab-four” criteria (protein, fat, fiber, and greens) that will keep you feeling full for hours and stabilize blood sugar.

This smoothie will provide sustainable energy and reduce feelings of anxiety often associated with the spike and crash of blood sugar.

Ingredients

1 cup organic almond milk (You can use any milk you like here. I love the brand MALK - they also have cashew, walnut, pecan, etc.)

½ cup organic berries: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or cherries (I like a mixture)

1.5 tbsp organic almond butter (you can use other nut butters as well! Or sun nut butter for a nut free version)

1 frozen block of mixed greens or 2 handfuls of greens (not frozen)*

1 scoop collagen peptides (I recommend Vital Farms or Great Lakes)

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp flax seeds

1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or chocolate would work in this recipe! I like Xymogen’s OptiCleanse GHI)

¼ tsp cinnamon

Blend up, and enjoy!

*I prefer using frozen berries and frozen greens for a smoothie that has a nice, thick consistency! I blend up mixed greens with a little bit of water, and freeze them into large silicone ice cube molds. This makes it easy to add greens to any smoothie!
