Peachy Green Summer Smoothie

Peachy Green Summer Smoothie

If my clients like smoothies, I recommend following Kelly LeVeque’s “fab-four” smoothie. Fab Four includes protein, fat, fiber, and greens. This template is great because it stabilizes your blood sugar, provides sustainable energy, and keeps you feeling full for longer. Many smoothies have a lot of fruit (or fruit juice), that quickly elevate your blood sugar, which results in an energy crash and hunger to follow.

This is one of my favorite summer smoothies, “peachy greens!”

1 cup organic unsweetened almond milk (or milk of your choosing)

1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use OptiCleanse GHI by Xymogen)

1 frozen block of mixed greens or 2 handfuls of greens (not frozen)*

¼ cup of frozen peaches (can also use a peach and mango blend)

½ fresh orange (cut out flesh)

1 tbsp hemp hearts (you can also use chia seeds)

2 tbsp flax (ground)

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp cinnamon

3-4 ice cubes

*I blend up mixed greens with a little bit of water, and freeze them into large silicone ice cube molds. This makes it easy to add greens to any smoothie!
